Tot School

I must confess...we did not do our letter of the week, nor did we do much of any focus activities this week. ALLERGIES hit our household this past week and I guess you could say any motivation I had went right out the window. We did manage to have some Tot School activities, just not at home!

We had our usual Tot Time at the library on Tuesday. This week the theme was "Going on a picnic". We read "The Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle (which is one of my favorites), sang songs, and then made a craft. C picked out several books about trucks, trucks...and more trucks! I checked out a few that will go with our "R" theme, and rainbows for next week.

We also met some friends at the zoo and worked on recognizing animals, and the sound they make.

I am planning on making an ABC book using some of the pictures I took at the zoo. I got the idea from here, and have been uploading my pictures to Picnik to add letters and names. Eventually, after I have all of the letters and pictures, I will print them off somewhere to make him a book!

We did a lot of reading this week! I captured some precious moments of my little guy with his Daddy and his Grandma reading to him. :)

I took C to a friends' house to "swim". My friend gave him a few cars to play with, and I don't think he made a peep after she gave those to him!

I recently subscribed to Highlights Hidden Pictures: Playground, and have been using them to help C identify objects. The ones we have are for younger children and they come with stickers that you can place on the object when you find them, or you can color them. I had to modify it for our purpose, but it really is a great way to help him learn new objects and search for them.

My favorite C moments of the week involve an orange and green popsicle...mmmmm!!!
That was pretty much our Tot School this week! Next week, we will get back on track with the letter "R" and I have found so many activities (thanks to Tumblr) that I want to do! To find out what Tumblr is, head over to Carisa's post here. It's a great way to save and share ideas with others!
