Caeden is currently 27 months old.
We've made it through the letter X! Only two more letters and we've finished our first ABC book! I look forward to starting the letter activities again with some different crafts, and activities.
Alphabet:
I printed off the letter X template HERE, and just let C color it with his markers. He is really taking more time to color instead of just making one line and then switching colors. He is even starting to make circles! My little Picasso. :)
After he colored his letter X, I brought in the laptop and opened up the letter Xx PowerPoint lesson. He still really enjoys the PowerPoint lessons. These lessons are great reinforcements in helping C learn letters and what things start with that letter, or at least have that letter in a word.
These PowerPoint lessons are from the Raising Rock Stars Preschool Curriculum that were created by Carisa over at 1+1+1=1. She has PowerPoint lessons that are available to Members Only, which you can learn more about the Members Only section here. There is also the entire printable unit that is available for FREE on the main RRSP page…Raising Rock Stars Preschool. . You can also see a video here showing a PowerPoint lesson.
Art:
I finally purchased some Do•A•Dot markers and C LOVES them! He asked for these several times this week. He calls them "Do dot? Do dot?" He did so good using the markers AND telling me which color he wanted next. :)
Beads and Buttons:
I got out our new set of lacing beads to see if C would be interested. He actually was able to put a few on the string but still needed my helping in pulling the string. He did not get frustrated as much with these than he has with his other set.
I also purchased Buttonart. I think I like this activity more than C! It is really cute and a great activity that helps C with hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.
Blocks:
C asked a lot for the nesting blocks this week, so I added that to our list of activities.
Here is video of him creating steps out of the nesting blocks, and then counting them.
Puzzles:
I also had his "puhzzles" out this week. :)
He worked on the Melissa and Doug Basic Skills board...
his number and animal puzzles.
and he worked on his construction puzzle.Books:
C is really into reading books lately. A few times this week we spent an hour just reading books. He made me laugh when he would repeat the very last word I would say. He is talking so good, and really picking up on emotions, and what characters are doing in the books. Here are some that he has asked to read over and over again this week! Most of them we checked out of the library.
Mom's Favorites:
C also got to spend some time with Daddy in the evenings...love these two!
Sweet laughter...
