Tot School (Week 22)

Caeden is currently 27 months old.
Tot School

This was a very short "Tot school" this week.  I got hit with allergies really bad and was on medicine (which made me drowsy) for most of the week, so Caeden and I didn't do too many new activities.  To be honest, my motivation went out the window...along with my kazillionth (I know that's not even a word) sneeze.  I am also facilitating a Bible study on Thursday mornings, and will be starting up our MOPS group this week.  So Tuesday and Thursday mornings will be "Caeden needs to work on socialization skills" day. :)

With that being said...we DID finished our first Alphabet series!
Alphabet:  Z
Letter "Z" was our letter this week.  I printed off a letter "Z" template from HERE, and thought it was time to break out the glue stick to see how C would do with some cut and paste.  I cut small small strips of black construction paper and then showed him how to glue them onto his letter.  He really did a good job for not having much experience with glue.

After he worked on his letter Z, I brought in the laptop and opened up the letter Zz PowerPoint lesson, and the whole alphabet PowerPoint. He still really enjoys the PowerPoint lessons.  These lessons are great reinforcements in helping C learn letters and what things start with that letter, or at least have that letter in a word.
These PowerPoint lessons are from the Raising Rock Stars Preschool Curriculum that were created by Carisa over at 1+1+1=1.  She has PowerPoint lessons that are available to Members Only, which you can learn more about the Members Only section here.  There is also the entire printable unit that is available for FREE on the main RRSP page…Raising Rock Stars Preschool.  . You can also see a video here showing a PowerPoint lesson.  Please take a moment to visit her blog!

Art:
I got out the ever so popular Do•A•Dot markers this week for him to try an actual do•a•dot page.  It was a bit tricky for him at first, but then he got the concept after a while.
He also asked for his markers, so I printed off a picture of a zebra coloring page.
While doing these activities, C is also able to practice colors by telling me which marker he wants next.  He has finally gotten his colors down...for the most part.  I kind of throw him off when there's a different shade of a color and he kind of looks at me with a long pause. :)  He usually lines everything up and counts too.  He used to count "1, 6, 9, 10" now he counts, "1...2...1....2....1...3".

Books:
We had our Tot Time at the library on Tuesday and this week the theme was Apples!  C has done this one song over and over at home this week.  Funny how he won't do it at Tot Time, but once we get home he's asking me to sing the songs!  So shy. :)  We also made a lacing apple for our take home activity.
I wasn't able to check any books out since I left my library card in another bag, so we read books that we had at home!

Mom's Favorite:
Chillin' with Mom's pink hat on! :)

That was our week!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

I have yet to venture into having Isaiah do computer time, but the power points by Carisa sure look great- it's fun to "see" them in action!
