Caeden is currently 28 months.
We had a great week of Tot School! I got some new Tot School tools for Caeden to use and he had a great time just exploring everything. Here are the highlights from our week!
Alphabet:
We are back to our letter of the week, and I am trying to remember to review the letters everyday. I started back to the letter A, and based a few of our activities around that.
I printed off a letter A Do•A•Dot page from HERE. I did laminate it so I could reuse it, it also gave him a chance to use different colors.
Arts and Crafts: Coloring and Apple Shaker
We also just colored with crayons and talked about objects that start with A. He's obsessed with Airplanes right now, so he had me draw a orange and a white one.
C also asked to color with his chalk on the chalkboard. I also had out objects this week that started with the letter A...Angel, Animals, Airplanes, the foam letter A, and our lacing Apple activity.

C also wanted to paint (once he sees all the materials he asks for everything) so I gave him two small paper plates and gave him red, green, and yellow paint. I had him paint the plates, then I stapled the sides halfway up, poured small uncooked macaroni noodles in, and the stapled the rest of it. I cut out two leaves and stapled them on the top. I know I didn't invent this activity, but I thought of it while he was painting!
Library: Tot Time
We had our last Tot Time for a while on Tuesday and the theme was "Fall". Our take home activity was a wreath, so C and I picked out different colors of leaves and of course a spider. It is displayed on our door. :)
C also got to take home a coloring book about fall that we worked on.
Fine Motor:
I got this idea of noodle pounding from HERE. I simply took an empty box, poked holes in it, and then placed uncooked penne pasta noddles into the holes. I let C used his toy hammers to pound them in. A few times he threw the hammer aside and used his fingers, but he enjoyed dumping them out of the box and doing it over and over!
I also got out the pom-poms, and gave him two plastic cups. C completely caught me off guard when he started separating them by size. He collected all of the small ones first, put them in the cup and then poured those into the other cup. Then he would put the bigger ones in and the dump those out. He was focused on this activity for almost 30 minutes each time. I am still finding the little ones around the house. :)

I received another new activity from Discovery Toys. I ordered C the Geoboard and he loves it. It is much easier than the peg board he has now. We also were able to talk about shapes, and colors while building towers, of course. :)
I also received the Measure Up! Balance from Discovery Toys. The age level on this is 4+ but he can still work on pouring, dumping, and making the balance go up and down. He happened to see this laying out so he wanted to see what it was. :)
Sensory Fun:
This was not a planned activity until the Discovery Toy boxes came and inside the boxes were packing peanuts! As you can see, C loved sitting in the box...and then dumping them all over! I thought I might keep a box full of them, but they were thrown out that night after the 4th time of picking them up. I wished I would have saved some of them for winter crafts!
My Favorites:
"Hmmm...I think for Christmas I'll take..."
That was our week! Thanks for stopping by!

Kayleigh loves that noodle pounding. I'm totally jealous of that library program. Ours doesn't do much and it's the biggest library system in the state.
Love your news toys. We got a few new things yesterday, including that button art. We haven't used anything yet but we sure will next week.
I just made a noodle pounding game for my DD. I bet she will love it!
I have some Amazon gift cards and I can't wait to sit down and pick out some new things for my kiddos :)
I love the apple tambourine idea!
Wow! It looks like that box of packing peanuts was a great hit! I love how my son loves the packaging more than what is in side...I'm afraid though that it won't last much longer.
I love that last picture. When I was a little girl my parent's would get me and my sisters a JC Penny catalog and we would pour through it circling everything we wanted Santa to get us. :)
What a GREAT week! Wow!! So many activities!
I love your paper plate apple! Very creative! And now you're going to have me hoarding packing peanuts for winter crafts too! LOL! I also loved that last picture of him looking at the catalog -- such intensity!
Visiting from Tot School!
